N. Rokhaya Faye, PhD

Postdoctoral Scientist

These last three years, I was working at LIRYC institute (Bordeaux University, France) to improve our understanding of cardiac electrophysiological functions by developping fluorescent voltage sensitive dyes (VSDs). My main goal during this study was to develop and characterize new  VSDs with large Stoke shifts and near-infrared spectral properties using a high spatiotemporal resolution technique: cardiac optical mapping tool. This project was conducted in collaboration with a french pharmaceutical company :SANOFI. Since May 2017,  I have joined Pr Efimov Lab and my new challenge is to understand electrophysiological properties and mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias in humans. I will be mostly focusing on heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization and in the maintenance of ventricular arrhythmia.
