I am a rising junior majoring in biomedical engineering. When I joined the lab my freshman year, my focus area was designing and 3D printing tissue chambers and other tools for optical mapping studies conducted by other lab members. My current projects include constructing a fully 3D-printable tandem-lens optical mapping system, FIBSEM imaging of SA nodal tissue, and assisting Kedar in optical mapping studies of human ventricular wedges. For these particular studies, I am in the process of learning digital signal processing of mapping data. I also perform image segmentation, 3D design of catheter devices, and tissue collection of sections of human hearts for RNA studies. During the summer of 2017, I am working at the FDA in the Office of Device Evaluation in the Cardiac Diagnostic Devices Branch.
